DEEP SPACE.

In his latest series, Doug Heslop seeks to create a meditative and cathartic space, interweaving a homage to abstract expressionism with a desire to communicate on a deeper plane.

Conceptually derived from our current understanding of the cosmos and how we came to be, they celebrate our ability, as humans, to play and experiment in abstract concepts and materiality.

This is paired with a neurotic system of titles , questioning narcissistic navel gazing and the curated life of social media, as compared with truly being in the moment of creation or discovery.

The larger works in the series are 120 x 120cm, oil (alkyd) based paint on acid primed aluminium. Each framed work measures 123 x 123cm.

Smaller works 40 x 40cm, oil (alkyd) on aluminium composite panel. Framed size 43 x 43 cm.
