MAYDAY MAYDAY responds to a near death incident where 4 close friends of the artist crashed in a light plane into the ocean off the coast of Tasmania’s South West Wilderness. Using audio recordings of interviews with the survivors as a starting point, the artist reweaves an internalised narrative, investigating the trauma of survival, and the psychological ripples that continue to emanate.
